WebCami’s Essential Plugins for the Genesis Framework

How many of you watched the movie The Founder? The scene of the Speedee Service System, a symphony of efficiency, was amazing to see in action. I’ve included a link to the video below:

As I mentioned earlier this week, I discovered the Genesis Framework and used it for all my design work starting in 2012. With streamlining comes efficiency and that allows more time to make money. Genesis isn’t just a framework and child themes. It also includes many great plugins that can be routine to include with every installation.

Here is my list of essential plugins for any Genesis website:

• Genesis Simple Edits: This plugin allows you to edit what shows in your Entry Meta, both top and bottom of your posts. It also allows you to customize your footer credits and text.
• Genesis Title Toggle: One click of a button on page and you can hide the page title.
• Genesis Responsive Slider: This plugin is needed for many of the child themes at StudioPress. Big bonus on how easy it is to use and how simple it is to set up. Nothing like Revolution Slider or other alternatives.
• Simple Social Icons: Super easy set up and clean design for social icons in your widget areas.
• Genesis eNews Extended: Connect newsletter signups into widgets in Genesis themes. Works with Feedburner, MailChimp, Aweber, FeedBlitz and Constant Contact.
• Genesis Simple Share: Another super easy Genesis plugin that is so much better than Jetpack for this purpose. Light weight and works great.
• Genesis Dambuster: This last one is for Genesis websites that are using the Beaver Builder plugin. You need this to bust out of the page margins and go full width with Beaver Builder layouts. Beaver Builder and Genesis work well together, but I urge anyone that is just getting started to resist using page builders to learn from. Get your coding chops first by using Genesis or another framework. Page building will be much better with strong coding skills.
