Currently, I’m navigating this tough terrain myself, and I’ve found that balancing professional responsibilities during this time more challenging than it has been in the past. When my parents were coming to the end of their lives, it was an expected event and I felt somewhat prepared because I knew I’d lose my parents someday. But when your own child faces a health challenge, even though it might not be life threatening, it’s hard to accept that it’s happening at all. Even if they are adults.
